Clinical Research Unit

The operational unit dedicated to implementing CSRS clinical research activities.

Role of the unit

Reporting to the Programmes Directorate, the Clinical Research Unit provides the operational framework needed to prepare, conduct and monitor clinical studies carried out at CSRS.

Areas of work

  • Phase 1b, 2 and 3 clinical trials involving communicable, respiratory and non-communicable diseases.
  • Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies.
  • Development and evaluation of diagnostic tools.
  • Monitoring antimicrobial resistance and supporting public-health systems.

Two distinct units

The Clinical Research Unit reports directly to the Programmes Directorate. The Clinical and Epidemiological Research Unit belongs to the Animal, Human and Environmental Health programme. The two entries in the organization chart therefore refer to two distinct units.
