The Administrative and Financial Directorate was introduced as part of the new CSRS structure and the outlook of the 2014–2018 strategic plan. It was created in January 2015 and approved by the Board of Directors on 20 June 2015. Led by Ms Sall Badiène Khady, it is responsible for general administration, logistics and finance. To improve the consistency of support provided to researchers, the Directorate is organized as follows:

In accordance with applicable national and international financial and tax regulations, the Directorate defines and implements CSRS financial-management policy based on the strategic choices of the General Directorate and the Board of Directors. It monitors the Centre’s performance, maintains activity-monitoring and reporting tools, oversees cash management, prepares the forecast budget and recommends measures to support CSRS performance. It also supervises internal and external audits and prepares action plans to implement their recommendations.
